Hello Jay, I do confirm, it is skipping as I unserstand it. For example, for the sentence : Betty bought some better butter, I will receive : Betty bou_ _me _tter butter. I have tried to source Steamcast directly (instead of asking it to relay a DNAS) using sc_trans, JRev and shout. It does the same...

Debian Sarge, Steamcast skipping

Hello, I just installed again Steamcast on a Debian Sarge 1.4 Ghz, 1 GB machine. I tried to relay an existing SHOUTcast stream installed on the same machine (no listeners connected, only Steamcast) but Steamcast skips. I searched the forum and checked the SHOUTcast MetaInt. I tried with 8192 and 163...

Jay,
I tried today to use two different IPs for SourceIP but only one relay was working. The other source defined in steamcast.conf was sleeping.
Perhaps is it a problem with Sarge or me not understanding correctly the settings. I don't know.

Thanks Jay. I re read the docs and I forgot to mention that I wanted both streams to be listed at yp.shoutcast. Reason why I run two copies.

BTW, thanks for having taken a look at this thread where I just wanted to report my experience. Sorry for the disturb.

Imagine you had two streams with different bitrates that you want to relay from another machine. You will need two copies of Steamcast running as the configuration file allows one relay only.

Relaying is the fact to take an existing SHOUTcast or Steamcast server and create a cluster adding another server to add more bandwitdth from another machine :)

Two copies relaying

Hello, I got a problem on Debian Sarge : starting two copies on the same machine (with two different configuration files) to make two relays. One copy relayed only. The other was sleeping. I checked the stream address to relay to and it was good. I just had to created another user and the second cop...

Yes Jay that's correct :
1/ Steamcast relays a DNAS
2/ you disconnect the DNAS's source
3/ you reconnect the source

Got the same error. The DNAS source disconnected, Steamcast relays when it came back but the interface says "no source"

Just a tip for linux users. If you used Webmin (free of charge) as a control panel for your server you could have been able to install only the missing libs using its online tool. End of the comment.
