There's a difference between active and passive ftp. That usually is what causes firewall problems.

Radiotoolbox and Wine

I just tried radiotoolbox with wine. It appears that radiotoolbox will run just fine on linux using wine.

Load the installer with wine and launch. Except for some minor cosmetic things, it appears to work fine.

Those are some cool pictures. About the scariest thing that ever happened to me in an airplane happened when my old boss flew us into Klamath Falls, Oregon on a winter night. The weather was supposed to be good, but the plane got iced up really bad in an unexpected storm. Bob was an air force pilot ...

I guess I have to use their launch page, but it specifically says the shoutcast directory is fine (with their "pro" package). This looked like a good deal to me. Looks like you could get royalties for a pretty decent station for $100 a month. A lot better than the $7000 a year, which was f...

Loudcity

So, loudcity looks like a good deal, but it doesn't look like I can use it with your steamcast or the icecast directory.

Correct?

I know why. Your MP3 bitrate is the same, but your sample rate is probably different. This is the only way I've made gerbils. i.e: 64K stereo 44100hz sample != 64K stereo 22050hz sample. I've been there with Gerbils and "Lurch"... It does really weird stuff to NSV video when you do this too.

Ogg video and steamcast.

Steamcast does indeed work with ogg video. In order to get ezstream to work you have to compile from source, the newest alpha 4 libtheora, the latest icecast (also compiled from source) and ffmpeg2theora (from source). "oggfwd" did not compile correctly for me (and some other people) givin...

If it helps, steamcast seems to be 100% stable when used as a relay server driven by shoutcast.

Ran for days.

I'm firing this up as a relay this time, so it shouldn't interfere to much with my normal web operations.

It looks to me like some very minor bug. Maybe we can figure out how to squish it.

Is there debug logging that I could turn on?.

Steamcast is a quite transparent replacement for shoutcast. It still is a little unstable. It's by no means unusable and has many advantages over the shoutcast server. Genius is some of the statistical reporting, BSD support and a bunch of stuff that shoutcast forgot. This does seem to be an active ...

Buying ads for my site is what really drives any revenue for these streams. I buy about $50 in very cheap advertising every month. This gives me about $150 in revenue back, new users, members etc. Using the YP will get your slots full, but that is about all it will do for you. I think the days of me...

Well, I made audio work, on both icecast and steamcast. Video, however still illudes me. I keep getting audio skipping and some other weird effects with Icecast and ezstream. Steamcast doesn't work at all, although it shows ezstream on the mount point correctly.... It looks like it should work, it j...

If it doesn't work toss your router.... Look, it's like this: You have a WAN IP address let's just say 4.4.4.4 and your routers IP is 192.168.0.1 Your computers would normally be : 192.168.0.100 192 168.0.200 etc. "ipconfig" (dos) or "ifconfig" (linux) will tell you who YOU are o...

Shoutcast is the bastard. It's been dead for 4 years. From the Phoenix rises the ashes. A "rara avis" via Mr. Krivanek.
