well like anything you get what you pay for. So the higher you spend (typically) the better the support will be because they can afford those expenses.

steamcast accepts either icecast or shoutcast source programs so you should be able to so long as you use either of those two protocols.

So how does running as a daemon stop you from changing the current working directory? Just do this in the startup script.

you need to make sure the working directory is set to the steamcast exe's location. such as

cd /pathto/steamcast

yes there will although the flash object will still have problems as it is something only adobe can fix. Problems include, consuming too much memory/CPU after long connection times.

Well there is really nothing stealth about the UDP port, it is a stats port designed to allow applications to get statistics about your server. I really can't see any reason why anyone would be able to hack into the system so baring a security report I am going to have to say that this one is ...

well actually it is. Their is still a problem on IE however because Flash uses the host browser to make internet connections and IE requires a content-length header in order to pass data along to active-x objects.
