in the mean time you could try adjusting Steamcast's nice levels. This might make it tie itself up, rather then SHOUTcast as well.

A little more extreme you could have you host provider set your machine to single CPU mode.

All this may be a problem if you do not heavily emphasize your website. If listeners know your brand and can find your website easily then it really is a non-issue.

Typically the client gets the IP if they tune in from a yp. As far as I know most listeners do not care to do a rDNS lookup on ...

make sure you have uncommented it from the config. Also make sure that your flash player is not hosted in IE. I learned after releasing this version that IE is requiring a Content-Length header before it passes the data on to it's child plugins. In firefox and stand alone flash this process works ...

well if the client is connecting and seeing the counter move upward in winamp then the problem is your encoder setup. You need to make sure that you have properly configured your soundcard to record your input if that is what you are wanting to broadcast.

ok well next version of steamcast needs some sort of multi CPU code in it. I think it causes the majority of issues that some are having. Once I get my hands on a machine with this configuration this should be resolved.

sc_nsv is a chaining shoutcast source program.

It uses a playlist of files to source a server. So it is not quite on demand.

the SourceBufferUtil is what you want, however last I checked i think I might have broke it. Should be fixed by next version.
