yea I am constantly working on improving the performance of the site. Unfortunately at this time it is not doing as well as I'd like. I am working on getting a revenue stream going so that we can get radio toolbox on a better server.

Make sure that you have chmod your directory properly as well and with the correct ownership for your webserver to read the files.

if the txt file will be on the server you can use the FTP feature to do this. Just would have to parse out the copyright notices in your flash object.

no, choose the SHOUTcast source method. As stated it is transparent to Steamcast.

Just make sure you change SourceMount's name to something with an nsv extension so that icecast directories can list you.

SourceMount=/live.nsv

for example.

I believe there is a bug in the online time display. This shouldn't cause a crash but it does cause the number to be accurate. I'll keep a close eye on it when I get back into town. Am at SASS this weekend.

you want to use the status item in the sheet. It gives you a status of 1 if there is a source connection. 0 means no source, 2 means disabled.

Ultravox servers require that a User-Agent be passed. You should make it a habit to utilize this header in all of your HTTP transactions anyhow.

Honestly, steamcast just does not account for that much traffic. The point is kind of moot because your going to receive much more traffic from shoutcast then from either icecast or steamcast at this time. As much as I want steamcast to be bigger I cannot in good conscious lead you to believe that ...

That would be just a hack, I do not think it is wise to alter extensions as not all players will be able to stream it correctly.

no there is no yport option, use the the Icecast standard if you want to make your own directory for steamcast, it will allow you to handle icecast clients as well.
