The delay will never be null, this is the internet and it is a packetized network as such there will always be some delay but each server has to buffer some of the signal otherwise the end result is a very ...

yes shoutcast has a 1MB internal buffer.

Steamcast (which is a drop in replacement to the SHOUTcast server has the same buffer but allows you to change what is utilized so you can shorten the amount of delay significantly without really affecting performance.

yes both shoutcast and steamcast ...

he is probably not passing async packets properly. You have to pass ASYNC packets to properly resync clients after each track. Just look at nsvscsrc for examples on this. There isn't anything you can do from your end, slavas needs to fix his source tool.

backup locations are obtained from the SHOUTcast directory, so someone publically relayed you.

My listtle script hasn't been messed with in a while so maybe there is a small bug with it. a snapshot of the XML doc when this occurs would help though.

yea the bitrate detection works better at >56kbps

Soon that won't be a problem any longer. Perhaps in the next patch update I can include a fix, but no guarentees as I only have a simple idea at this point of how to go about it, haven't actually implemented it yet.

yea I have already talked to slavas about that, he sends the first meta title before the stream has logged in which is technically an undefined event.

certainly if I had a lot of people using steamcast I would consider this, but for now with only about 4 or 5 really active beta users I am not really seeing this forum that crowded. Bugs should go to mantis though, as I can more easily remember to fix things when they are posted there.

I had initially intended that but ran into other problems when fixing this one. I have also added some performance improvements. If all goes well I will release what I have tommorrow.

One biggie was FreeBSD appearently was extremely unstable, so 0.9.3 fixes that problem hopefully.

Re: Oddcast

Hey well why not make it work for Oddcast it is alot more powerfull then shoutcast. You can do more with it and hey why not with the SAM player also. Why make a feature that sounds really cool but only make it for a dsp that has not been updated in well forever. Jay if there is a way to make this ...
