1. Steamcast must not be able to run on the system you request via any other port ...

Right now Steamcast only supports the Icy YP and Icecast2 YP systems. Jetcast's directory uses neither. Seems to be some proprietary creation. Hit them up and ask them to support and open framework like Icecast2 YP and it will work no problem ;)

Oddsock pulled down his directory due to bandwidth ...

it seemed to run fine. I couldn't get it to do any of the things you got it to do. At some point you stopped the relay so I left it at that. It lasted a good 3 days though without any problems.

the kill pid is normal. there are things steamcast tries to do when shutting down. It is trying to be graceful if you do SIGINT or SIGTERM it a couple of time it will shutdown without being graceful.

How are you determining the buffer usage?

when you go to a url in your browser go to the example.php file, not the catcher script. That is only there for radio toolbox communication with the website.

Seems to have been solid but the mysql backend is completely different then Icecast's they branched away a version ago.

Perhaps I will start a sourceforge project for it later.

Give me a few days to get everything in order. I really need ...

i agree, an open source yp backend would be nice, and I plan on making my code available at some point.

The mount point is something you do not have to concern yourself with in shoutcast dsp, steamcast matches you to a mountpoint based off your login.

read the YP article in the articles subforum for our slant on the yp spec.

also post your config, most likely you have a configuration problem.

Read the steamcast docs on how to properly setup mounts or post them here and I can help you resolve the issue.

yes, the currently released steamcast just averaged. The new steamcast will do the same but it will only look back over the last 15 seconds, which is far more accurate. The reason the initial high bitrate occurs is because usually most encoders send a burst of data to the server.
