the shoutcast dsp should be fine to use with any version of winamp. If not then I would look at oddsock's oddcast at www.oddsock.org direct links can be found in the industry section of this site.

If you want to get into video streaming then you have several options you can use windows media ...

steamcast does not support this capability as it is way too shoutcast-centric. It could be supported but I would have to see if this is something that can be extended into the icecast yp specifications.

you have 3 options when giving your viewers a link.

If you want to place authentication in the hands of their media player. Both Winamp and Windows Media Player support this for sure. Other players may as well. Simply provide them a typical link to the stream. Either by using the internal playlist ...

Yes, although I have not specifically tested this out yet you can setup the relay with the address

http://localhost:8000/live.mp3?user=som ... s=password

the authentication is done via the params.

can you expand on what is wrong. iTunes is supported so it should work so long as you are using a codec itunes supports.

You need to uncomment SourceAuth in order to make it work. Right now it is commented.

The simi-colon (;) is what marks a line as a comment.
