yes an issue came up int the current version of the server that would cause it to crash if it became under high load, I have gotten the problem resolved except if you have any type of logging enabled. If you have the windows version of the software you can get it from RSBN's thread.

that table is for user authentication, it has nothing to do with your source.

The SourceAuth Feature would set the protect bit on the stream and require users to be in the user table before they could get into the stream.

If you are on a network you will need to configure your router to forward it's outside port to your internal shoutcast server's computer and port.

no, the problem is likely in the decode process of itunes. Windows media player has this sort of affliction with vbr streams (which is why I mentioned it) The stream stops only because iTunes stops actively recieving data. Players stop recieving data when they get stuck on a decode.

does it happen if you source shoutcast with something other the nicecast? Like sc_trans_macosx?

If so then the problem is likely itunes, if not then I would say nicecast is embedding something into the stream that itunes can't deal with or you are using some sort of vbr setting.

yea I have seen this with the development version, I will track it down and kill it.

For now just be aware that I am currently trying to figure out what to do with my radio toolbox sites. My last provider has dropped the ball, and moving to my dedicated server has proven not enough for the demand ...

the source address has nothing to do with the server's ability to reach the internet. For this you will need to make sure the firewall is configured properly. If you get listed on shoutcast.com it is quite likely that people will be able to reach your server.

well continue sourcing it that way then. Your router may not allow you to use your extrenal ip from within the network.
