what is giving you that error? What is the location to your server? Does the server continue to run when you get that error? I need as many details surrounding your issue as possible.

Ok as a last resort you can try an undocumented feature I wrote into the server, login to the admin panel and then add this to the end of your server's url in the browser.

?shutdown=y

The url should look something like this

http://yourserver:8000/admin/?shutdown=y

killall -9 steamcast should do the trick. Reboot after killing the server this way as memory may have leaked due to the use of this command.

As for the cron job the server should just die if it isn't able to lock the incoming ports. I can probably expand to instance checking in the future but ...

Care to share what happened and how you got it running for other users? As for the 100% usage disable features until it stops using and report your findings I will try to include fixes if needed in the up coming release.

You should not have to install anything to get steamcast going. Just unarchive steamcast itself and you should be ready to go.

well I am running that exact build on Cent 4 and no probs so I would suspect the module you are running did not update properly. Try removing all the files in that distribution and redownloading from steamcast.com and unarchiving.

Also just for clarity the builds were done on older systems to ...

Like I said I don't currently support vista. Perhaps some of the bug fixes in the new version that I plan on releasing soon will fix your issue.
