yea with ftp you are likely going to have file lock problems that cannot be avoided. You could always use the PHP scripting feature and that will help.

ok the problem is likely vista related. Until I get a copy of vista to run and test things out on I won't be able to fix any vista related bugs. The windows version I have up on the site is for Windows NT 5 ONLY. Other Windows Platforms are not currently supported.

As far as the variables, only song and url are available for meta data. I have been thinking of including custom fields but no player or codec will support it officially once the option of available.

yea that will certainly do what you want. The name can't change because the icy protocol doesn't allow you to adjust the name of a stream midstream. Meta data would be the only adjustable variable.

Please note that a backup mount only works when a listener is connected to the mount when it goes down, it will never substitute a live or relay mount. The behavior is similar to the behavior of the backupfile in shoutcast.
