Just checking in here. I have let it run quite a long time. It's been very stable for me. I haven't been running YP though.

I've had the latest beta running for a few days. I don't think I've had a steady source on it for 36 hours though. I'm currently at 14 hours with my latest source. If I get it past 36 hours, I'll let you know. (I've disconnected to reconfigure things usually once a day. I'll resist that this time).

I'm a fan of open source, but I certainly see the YP issue as a very valid reason not to release it. But what about one day releasing a version that doesn't include any YP code in it? You could have a companion binary that the open source code can use for YP functions, so no one will be compelled to...

Is this something that occurs with Icecast2 as well or only Steamcast?
I'll make a point of retesting that. I don't want to say something that's wrong. Stay tuned ...

In my case, I only feel I need one IP. As I said, I'm also happy running extra instances of steamcast for extra ports. Some data centers are getting stingy. I've been where I got 5 IP's by default. And I've been where I only get one. I'm just trying to point out that it's a problem for some people. ...

ok, I have to chuckle when you said "get more IP's". they be gettin scarce those IP's! my leased server can only get so many, and I have to justify them before they will sell them to me, if they have any to sell. it's happened in the past that none were available on my subnet. and my local...

ah, I just thought of something you didn't say but probably meant. To get both 128 and 24 streams listed on shout cast, they have to both be the default mount for a given port. If you had the configuration allow multiple port creation in one conf *and* the stats for all ports could be viewed by look...

you can do that now. on the same port, but with different mounts. and you can see on one page how many listeners there are one, and do the admin functions all on one page too.

it's trivial to just run another instance of steamcast to get another port running. that's what I do. i'm trying imagine what the advantage would be to have multiple ports within a single conf and steamcast instance. I can't think of one.

In my opinion, it's impossible to ban stream rippers anyway. I think it can lead to the looney bin trying. Except for maybe that microsoft ban, that sounded good to me! ;)

Off the top of my questionable head, you might try a username of "Source" to be compatible with the shoutcast dsp.

One thing I noticed with the bitrate detection is that it's always freakishly high, and then slowly drops towards the real value. I'm wondering how your algorithm works. More specifically, does it continuously average in some way? I'm thinking if it was limited in the amount of time it saw back, and...
