Why are we worried about streamrippers?. Tacit obedience to the law requires that licensed broadcasts do not promote streamripping, but past that, there isn't any real responsibility to stop it. Yeah, it's a bandwidth thief, but OH WELL. I banned an IP I thought was a streamripper and it turns out i...

I am getting an error message from the YP handshaking. It just says unknown error in the log. That happens all of the time though and is not the reason for the crash (I think). When it dies there is no error message..... It just goes south. EDIT: It's a clean exit, no error message, almost like it w...

That looks like a router that isn't set up right. You need to look at you router manual and make sure that the "port" and "port+1" are being routed to the server computer. It should be in your router manual under port forwarding. Follow the instructions for a regular web server, ...

It runs along fine, and then for no apparent reason and no error message, it just quits to the command line. It happened a lot faster today. I only got a few hours, usually it stays up longer. I was thinking about hooking a streamripper to it to see if it's some program that makes it die. I doubt it...

Still dropping after a while.

Well, steamcast still seems to drop after while. It looks like about 36 hours at a whack.

Is there anything I can do to find out why?. Perhaps a way to turn debug logging on or something?.

An idea for steamcast.

One of the big hassles with shoutcast is connecting and disconnecting source streams without dropping the viewers. I don't know exactly how I'd accomplish this, but it would be a cool feature if you could mount two (or more) sources on the sourcemount point and change them with a SIGHUP. Perhaps a f...

I guess I'll try again then. It would be good if it worked. I kept getting an authentication error. I didn't try ogg audio with ezstreamer, since you say it works with ogg audio, I'll do that first and then switch to video when I have it nailed. Stay tuned..... 8O P.S. The newest steamcast has been ...

It doesn't look like ezstream is compatible with steamcast. I get an authentication error on the hookup. That probably doesn't matter too much, because the only player that I could find that would play it is VLC. But I guess Google's gonna get behind that in some way. It would give a truly license f...

Ogg video.

I was looking at that Vorbis/Theora format that is in an ogg wrapper.

Is there a source program that will feed that to icecast or steamcast?.

I've seen a zillion audio ones.

Hmmm... I'll have to look closer, all the sc_nsv(1-3).conf files are identical except for port and IP.

.72... just upgraded and still testing.... looks mostly good... Good enough to use in production while testing. Any idea why subtitles aren't passing through steamcast?. I have 3 instances of sc_nsv running. 2 feeding shoutcast and 1 to steamcast. They are identical and use the same subtitle.txt fil...

WebRanger dropped from steamcast directory.

Here's today's steamcast bug report. During the night WebRanger TV dropped from the steamcast directory. It was still listed at shoutcast and xiph. Restarting steamcast cured the problem. A grep showed communication to steamcast happening with the wonderful "unknown error" message. My othe...
