I still don't think the iTunes directory is all that. I think you'd be disappointed with the number of listeners it might attract. But hey, maybe I'm wrong! Do you have any sort of data/comparison/projection as to what you could expect to gain in traffic?

I thought I'd checkout the website of our upset member here. Getting on to iTunes has been a long time concern it seems, so perhaps he spoke during a frustrating moment. I think his comment was mostly aimed at his direct competeition, who is listed. I hope he was just having a bad day. Anyway, it se...

I want to kill everyone on iTunes for thinking they're better than us. You want to kill everyone there? That's a bit over the top. You would be in error assuming that everyone at iTunes thinks they are better than anyone else. They have their own set of criteria for who they list in their Directory...

And in case no one has mentioned it, thanks to WhiteWolf for his helpful troubleshooting. I had these issues on redhat enterprise 3. I haven't run it lately, but just did run it for two days as root, and it was stable over that period. I probably didn't run it as root before, as I generallly wouldn'...

just some FYI. It seems my server hung up last night (redhat E3). I went looking for why in /var/log/messages, and I found this: Sep 25 04:14:40 bella kernel: Mem-info: Sep 25 04:14:40 bella kernel: Zone:DMA freepages: 2932 min: 0 low: 0 high: 0 Sep 25 04:14:40 bella kernel: Zone:Normal freepages: 7...

will do.

I'll be happy to test it on E3 once you've released it for Fedora.

the relay doesn't reencode the stream to a different bitrate. that limit is meant to disconnect sources that go over the limit. perhaps it doesn't disconnect if it's a relay as opposed to a direct connected source. if you want to transcode the 128 into a 56k, look for sc_trans from shoutcast.com. th...

a fetcher?

Anyway, you might want to read the xml, and then do whatever you want with that. You customize any sort of look as your front end. If you explained what you want to do a little more, I might be able to offer better advice.

my SourceBackup (a relay) stopped working.

After moving steamcast to my new server (RedHat Enterprise 3), it doesn't take the sourcebackup anymore. Has anyone else observed this? If you feel like trying to connect, it's http://mybeausejour.com:8500 PortBase=8500 MaxUser=20 LogFile=king.log ScreenLog=Yes RealtimeLog=Yes YPLog=No PidFile=king....

Started test with new shoutcast dsp and AAC+

So far so good. This is on a new server for me. Redhat Enterprise 3. It lists on the shoutcast directory just fine. One thing I noticed is it's reporting the wrong data rate for the relay. Actually, you can look yourself. http://mybeausejour.com:8500/ is what I stream to, and it correctly reports 48...

oh, did I misunderstand? He wants multiple audio sources. I didn't think he wanted *different* streams/shows at the same time. OtsDJ would require multiple licences if you want to stream several different shows at the same time. If you merely want to be able to stream all those different audio sourc...

if you want to get fancy

I use something called OtsDJ. think of it as winamp on steroids. What is has is an awesome audio pipeline, extremely 'real' song mixing, and tons more features. I actually use it to run a radio station 24 hours a day without human internvetion. For your particualr question, it can play a CD, and it ...
