just a little feedback. tried listening, getting repeating rebuffers. this probably has nothing to do with your issue, but is something else you may wish to be aware of.

glad you're sorted out jezyk. Jay to the rescue! If something like that ever happens again, you could always get the job done by putting more commands into cron, like the ps command that writes the data to a file and sets permissions so you can read it. Awkward, but it you did that with something th...

I suggest you try putting the kill command in a cronjob as well. You know the pid right? Just make sure you remove the kill from the cron jobs after it's killed.

ok, done. i updated ubuntu 7.04 to the final release before testing. This is on a Pentium III, 996 mhz, 256meg. Running the default config, no changes. I have one mount, with a 128k mp3 stream coming in. I have one listener. CPU usage once peaked at 0.7% for the one pid that shows up in a top. I've ...

I'm going to get a new server, and am trying to decide between one with centos, or enterprise 4. if I do, I'll be willing to set up an account for you to access and test if you like Jay (as I've done before). my heart wants centos, but my business head says get enterprise 4. steamcast is one conside...

the more spammers, the more raw material I have for my army of the unliving. mwaaaahaaaa

yep, constant problem. I think forums should have new posters fully moderated at first. let them get a good 10 posts approved before they automatically show up.

Unnamed Steamcast Server

Hi Jay, I wonder if you might consider changing a behaviour. If a feller has a SourceNameFormat set with a name, let's say "Jay's Radio", I'd like it to always set that for the name when that mount is actually a relay. Now, I sometimes get "Unnamed Steamcast Server", depending on...

Just for kicks, if you can, try running it under the root user. I say this because a couple of version ago (or more), I had an issue not unlike that. I found it never happened when running as root, but it with a lesser priviledged user. I never really figured out what the problem was, as an update s...

oh, one more question.

will it be able to play an m4a file? this is how all of my software packages aac files. or does it have to be containerless? I'm not sure how to make a simple .aac file at this point. if that's required, I'll have to figure that out.

%s in sourcegateway

i've read that if you use %s as the extention for a sourcegateway filename, it will match to your stream. does this require that the mount name have the appropriate extension? ie. should my mount name be stream.mp3, or stream.aac if I wish to use intro.%s for sourcegateway, and have an intro.mp3 and...
