A little more thoroughness on my part, and I see that it's ok when I put in the user/pass for the mount I want to change. I get a Segmentation Fault when I inadvertantly put in the user/pass for the admin. I obviously shouldn't do that, but perhaps a bit of protection could be added for when goofbal...

segmentation fault updating song
well, the next step in my linked mount config is to separately update meta data. I'm doing tests using firefox as a browser and entering the following line: http://someserver.com:8000/admin.cgi?user=xxx&pass=xxxxxx&mode=updinfo$song=sometitle If I do that, I get a Segmentation Fault. Steamca...

a little follow up. I can make it work the way I want by making use of a relay into it. sort of like this on port 8000 mount (a relay to 8100) on port 8100 main mount is for me back mount is a relay of another source. I need to initially connect on 8100 main mount, then the relay on 8000 picks it up...

ok, I'll do some extra testing. thanks for clarifying that it doesn't supply a backup mount until a listener is connected. and more to the point, a listener can't connect until a direct source is feeding the mount. I would personally find the behaviour to be more useful if it did present the backup ...

well, I'm kinda stumped. everything is I believe it should be. I did do this stuff successfully with a previous version (.73 perhaps?) but I had some other issues that prevented me using it. If you still have the login for that account on my server, you can login to the shell yourself and run this. ...

clarification on mount backups
I'm getting back to doing some mount backups in my configs (something I once had working fine btw). I'd appreciate some feedback on whether or not I misunderstand how this works, or if maybe steamcast isn't playing nice with me. Brief description. I want to have a mount use a relay as a backup. If I...

Just to follow up on this thread. With Jay's help, it seems that the text files that come with the linux tar contains (CR)(LR) for line endings. Redhat Enterprise 3 doesn't handle the CR's properly, perhaps newer versions filter them, and E3 passes them. I don't know if Jay will choose to patch stea...
