freebsd relay issue

Hey Jay, I thought I'd bring this to your attention. Not sure if you've heard this before, or how much testing you do on freebsd. I'm hitting a thing where a relay doesn't connect to it's source until after quite a large number of failed connection attempts. Scenario as follows: Happy little steamca...

I recommend you write a "control panel" that will update the settings you want your user to have access too. You can let them see all the same settings, but impose your own limits in the control panel interface. This way, you can tell them they can't exceed xx for max users etc. And I bet ...

gee, I could find this handy for something. Would the mounts on the other IPs show on the public html and xml steamcast serves up for the other IPs? /me hopes they do not.

What I mean is, would 87.106.33.129:80/status.xml (and the html page) only show show mount /64, and not mounts /32 and /128?

Thanks Jay,

Will nodes show listeners to a mount that is routed to it's backup? I'll test of course, but I can't get to that for a couple days.

listener counts on mounts with backups

Hit a scenario in reading the xml, and I guess the web page too. A mount that has a backup doesn't display at all in the xml when there isn't a streamer connect to it, even when listeners *are* connected to it, but are internally routed to it's backup mount. It shows the right total in the xml, whic...

Hi Jay,

Just wondering if you've done this one. Thought I'd ask, since it's been a while. Are you making a new release in the foreseeable future?

thanks,
Lane

can you provide more details? like steamcast OS version and version number, OS you're running it on, browser type and version, etc.?

your hello world test needs to write to a file, so you'll see the output. try something like this echo "hello world" > /path/to/steamcastdir/helloworld.txt I don't know much about plesk, so I can't really help you with it's quirks. But I think you should probably study up on this stuff a l...

First of all, have you tested running something else with that same method? perhaps a simple "hello world" shell script? (in this case, one that writes hello world to a file you can later read, and check modification time on). also, whatever user is running cron needs to have execution rig...

glad you're sorted out.

steamcast and shoutcast aren't the same of course. you may find other config differences. steamcast also includes functions similar to icecast, and can *kind of* be thought of as a blend of them. but to be fair, that kind of under states what steamcast really is.

I know for a fact that function will work. I've used it many times. Is there something unusual about how you send titles? May I suggest you post your steamcast config file, but blank out the passwords. And you may wish to also post the url for the steamcast stream. And just to throw a curve ball out...
