Does your station have an IRC channel?

Post by sticky »

Hello, I'm just curious of various stations here have an IRC channel, and if not what type an interest is live chat for listeners.

Reason I'm curious is I run an IRC server which orignally was made for online radio stations to use.

It's not advertising, just making it aware that there is a place for you to host a live chat in a friendly community.

Ive considered running a IRC channel for the radio as shoutcast allows you to list it in the YP but to be honest my front page shoutbox seems to do the trick and we get lots of shout outs and radio chat going on :

Its also much easier for people to use the shoutbox compared with IRC. Newbies just dont get IRC easily. Keep it web based is what i reckon.

If there is any interest in this, I would be more than willing to help you setup a web interface on your site, and provide the back end irc services, I am a network admin on irc.imperium.ca, just drop me a email or come online and let me know!

My station has a irc channel. You can connect to it here: irc://irc.gamesurge.net/eglnradio

It is channel #eglnradio on the gamesurge network.
