Need help getting Listeners past Firewall

Post by mrboxers »

Just recently got my stream up and running...or so I thought. My listeners can't get past my firewall. Is there anyway to keep the firewall and still allow listeners to find my station?

yes you need to open up the portbase set in shoutcast on your firewall

so if shoutcast uses port 8000 then you need to forward or open port 8000 on your firewall.

I have a SpeedStream 2-port DSL router sharing the cable connection between my computer and another. I'm not sure how to access the firewall....where would i find it -- my computer, the other one or is it to do with the router (which says it is equipped with a firewall)?

Sorry about this...just never dealt with a firewall before and it is starting to fustrate me that i can't get around it.

Thanks again!
