intro before stream

intro before stream

how do i setup an intro to play before the music start streaming , I try everything but it's now working for me

set $intro_file =

to the file you want to run before the stream, make sure to remove the # sign from in front as that is a comment.

I did just that and i added the path to the mp3 intro file
but it's not working

then your path is probably not correct. try using an absolute path to the mp3 in question.

do i need to set up a playlist for the intro feature to work

no I do not remember making that neccessary, although it does need to meet whatever filtration criteria you setup, so make sure the bitrate samplerate, channels of the intro match up with that. Mp3 Toolbox will not encode you mp3 for you.

Thanks Jay i got it working now after a few tweak.
is there a way to launch the stream using m3u file instead of pls file
and secondly is it possible to have a now playing or number listener tuning to the stream

for an m3u just make one and point the url location of the stream which you can get from winamp.

as far as the other 2 things, that is not something that is really possible as this is a script not an application, the streams that users tune into will not be identical, just pull from the same content. I had started work on something to at least track concurrent users but that stalled after I found that doing this was a little more unrealistic from a webserver.
