My clients can´t listen to music

Steamcast is a stand alone server that combines the features of SHOUTcast and Icecast2 and more to make one mega awesome server.

My clients can´t listen to music

Post by rt_rex »

I´ve just installed steamcast server beta on my computer só it can bradcast to my Lan . :D

My clients seem to connect but they can´t ear anything i´m playing.

In the Server it shows "1 node" the Tx rate and i can see that the client is getting the stream because of the network activity on the NIC but they can´t ear it.

The client is using Winamp 2.91 and and would like to know if it needs any codec or something like that (on the client side).

I have the ogg on the server and this is the format that he is streaming.

PS:there is no internet connection on this LAN ,i don´t know if it´s necessary i just whant to stream to the LAN.

thanks

well if the client is connecting and seeing the counter move upward in winamp then the problem is your encoder setup. You need to make sure that you have properly configured your soundcard to record your input if that is what you are wanting to broadcast.
