How to stream to a second source using nsvscsrc?

Steamcast is a stand alone server that combines the features of SHOUTcast and Icecast2 and more to make one mega awesome server.

How to stream to a second source using nsvscsrc?

Post by derdau »

When I stream a video file to my steamcast-server i use the nsvscsrc from then nsv-tools. It works fine: I can see the stream.

Now I generate a second source. This source got the name ch2.

How can I stream to this source using nsvscsrc? If it isn't possible, do you know another streaming tool for nsv-video-files?

just specify a seperate sourcemount with a different user/pass combo and use it in the second nsv source tool. Check out the documentation in the menu for info on setting up multiple mount points in steamcast.

Exactly this is my question.

I cannot see any place in nsvscsrc where I can specify the source-mount point.

Example: My first mount point is named live.nsv, my second is named ch1

On my client i enter the command: nsvscsrc 192.168.1.10:8001:headers.txt c:\

Then the files will be streamed to live.nsv. What would be the right syntax for streaming to ch1?

The source-stream is password-independent!

You're right: To seperate the streams I have to use seperate passwords.

Now the streaming of more than only one source works pretty good.

Thank you!

yes, all mount point sources are designated by the user/pass sent to the server on source connection in order to support shoutcast source tools. This is different from what you may be used to with other servers.
