Steamcast is a stand alone server that combines the features of SHOUTcast and Icecast2 and more to make one mega awesome server.

nak error 100 on Shoutcast yp

Post by Deltamusic »

Am getting a nak error 100 on Shoutcast yp and am not being listed. Ran across something about a change to yp port 666 on Shoutcast from port 80. Any info on this and how to fix.
Thanks..

nak error 100 on Shoutcast yp

Has happened in the past but this time it would say that Stream has been successfully added, then the NAK error. Did this for about a couple of days and cleared up. One interesting thing was that whenever I hit refresh on the Shoutcast dir it would come back saying I was playing songs that had not been played for days and also showed different bit rates..... bt seems to be ok now. noticed the Icecast listings or down this morning.
Thanks for tha reply!

You have to realize that the SHOUTcast YP is actually a cluster of servers, it only takes one losing sync with the rest to have it go flaky.

The nak 100 error essentially means it has no idea who you are. So one mirror probably didn't have proper records for the id your steamcast got from the add on another server.

Personally if I were doing their setup I would do a MySQL cluster and drop that replication crap but I am not them.

I have learned a lot since starting this stff! BTW is there something going on with the Steamcast yp.. It keeps re-adding me and I have not changed anything since my last post. It continues as in a loop.

I am performing a server migration. Will probably do that for 2 or 3 days from yesterday. DNS propagation is funky on some ISP/DNS especially with all the caching.

Steamcast/Radio Toolbox needed the extra hardware. Hopefully this will keep things peppy for a while.
