winamp + foobar cant connect to the stream (corrupt file)

Post by 2kj »

hi,

got a problem with i think steamcast. im connecting to a mount by edcast (former oddcast) via ogg vorbis. Now when i want to Open a mount by Winamp or Foobar, it just drops the connection, foobar says "Unable to open item for playback (Unsupported format or corrupted file):"

in winamp it just says "Connecting...."

Steamcast log is:

Code: Select all

<06/11/2008@03:01:11> [dest] <myhomeip> Connection Opened (A: myserverip:8900/Playlist.ogg) [L: 1] {UA: WinampOGG/5.24(MPEG stream compatible)}
<06/11/2008@03:01:12> [dest] <myhomeip> Connection Closed [L: 0] {149816 bytes} (1 secs) RE: Software caused connection abort
<06/11/2008@03:01:36> [dest] <myhomeip> Connection Opened (A: myserverip:8900/DJ.ogg) [L: 1] {UA: foobar2000 v0.9.4}

yes, ogg support is kind of buggy at this time. I would use aac or mp3.

hmm but stream transcoder v3 doesnt eat aac as far as i know..

i have problems when i have more than 6 lame threads running on the machine because the cpu peaks.. so i thought about sending from winamp in ogg to steamcast.....

any other solution besides encoding to mp3??

--- edit

i really want to use ogg, what was your configuration when u tested ogg input?? maybe i can make the same set up, that it will work.
thx again

solution found i think

you have to add .ogg to the source moint points

that would be like /live.ogg and not live

atleast now it streams fine to winamp + stv3

--- edit

maybe this wasnt the cause, im investigating.

--- edit2
this wasnt the cause! but somehow it sometimes works and sometimes dont, also the the stv3 eats it sometimes yes, sometimes no.
maybe it has something to do with the quality setting.
i think i had more success with quality settings below 5. any truth to this?
