noob help

Post by Dtrooien »

I have a server up and running.
I loaded my source folder with some mp3's I want to cast.
But i think I'm doing something wrong.

I want to stream through all 50 mp3's and an intro mp3.
but the way it shows up now all 50 mp3's come up as different stations. I can tune in but only to one mp3 at a time.

What am I missing!!!!

The on demand feature will not make a station. You will need to use a source encoder if you want to stream them as a station.

Ok, but what if I want the server to run as a stand alone system. I don't want to have to have an upload stream coming from my home pc.
I want to upload my mp3s to my server and have the stream server make them into a station.

I guess what I'm asking is how do i setup the encoder and the stream server in one. On one Linux server???

Thanks so much for you assistance! :)

There are a few encoders out there specifically designed for linux streaming. sc_trans is a shoutcast solution. http://www.icecast.org/ezstream.php is a icecast solution. Both will work for steamcast.
