Steamcast is a stand alone server that combines the features of SHOUTcast and Icecast2 and more to make one mega awesome server.

Option to relay

Post by lfmidwood » Mon Nov 08, 2004 2:07 pm

Hi Jay,
I am giving a hard look at your Steamcast server to replace the Shoutcast DNAS for my streams, as always I am terribly impressed with your work :) One thing I notice is that at this time there does not appear to be an option for the server to relay other servers, might this be in the works? I understand Steamcast is still in beta, so I am not whining :D As always thanks for your support of the webcasting community.

Out the 100Base-T, through the router, down the T1's, over the leased line, off the bridge, past the firewall... nothing but Net

relaying is now an option for each source. one thing though relays will not cluster on shoutcast's yp at this time due to the beta nature of the project and some possible hitches with the diffferences between the two servers.
