couple steamcast questions and stuff

Steamcast is a stand alone server that combines the features of SHOUTcast and Icecast2 and more to make one mega awesome server.

I'm really curious about the Shoutcast metaint. I never really played with it before. What difference do you think having the higher number in there makes? I just set all 3 of mine to 8192. I hadn't touched it before.

it really makes little difference. It just makes it's timing on song changes a little more sluggish to have it set higher.

Oh yeah. That could make a difference if you'd like to sort of screw up some of the stream rippers. I like it lagged.

Right on the money ^^

They snuck that metaint change in there without anyone noticing :(

The only thing now is repairing that Over-ride title display so it doesn't push to the end.

Do you still want me to fire up a server and send you the link Jay?

Thanks!

ps) Sorry, I don't like to start new threads :( I don't know why?

I am not able to reproduce this, please provide a link to your stream, you can pm me it if you want to keep it private. Get back to me asap so I can include a fix in the release I am making today.

Have you had anymore thoughts about hooking me up with a YP sample script? It can even be broken...I'll fix it ;)

I just need something to get me started really, my first attempt failed miserably

Thanks!

Yeah, don't expect an email. I got approved for 3 projects about 2 months ago and never heard back from them...

I finally logged in to my sourceforge account the other day and there was the messages about being approved lol!

I couldn't believe I waited so long before checking. I figured since I use gmail getting the mail from them shouldn't be the problem ;) But seeing as how they never bothered to send one...

Anyways, thanks again!

Hey, you don't have any intention of sourceforging steamcast do you?

I'm hoping not, but just wondering...I think the last thing we need is to be inundated with demon spawns of steamcast and all the broken stuff in 3rd parties rewrites...especially as a YP- waiting ever so patiently for the YP stuff...I got my site all ready for it :D

in order to continue listing on yp's needing stats there will be no open source Steamcast in the forseeable future. Besides if you need something open source just use Icecast2.
