Windows authorization

Post by fatcontroller »

Hey all ive recently installed windows media services on 2003, Im new to windows media for stream. Everythings really easy to understand and operate apart from 1 thing the security.

What i want to do is enable password protection to encoders pushing to the server. i have enabled acl authorization on the publishing point level, and added a user to the acl list under properties. When trying to encode i get the username and password pop up but when i put the details of the user in it just says access denied. I can stream with no authorization or authentication enabled and with anonymous authentication enabled. but cannot work out what im doing wrong. Ive tried every differnt combination of authentication and authorization that i can, but just cant get it to work. Im sure its something simple. Anyone got any ideas or can tell me how they have security set up like this on there system?????

Thx in advance
