broadband speed used when broadcast with pull method

Post by djrven »

hello guys, I want to make a broadcast using windows media server an d I've decided to use pull method, but, comes to me a question, what adsl speed connection the encoder pc will be using, the upload speed or download speed? considering the fact that the server will start the connection to my encoder pc with WMencoder when I use the pull method.

It's easy understand when I'm using the push method then I'm making use of upload speed of my broadband connection!!! but in the other case(pull method) I've no clear the scenario!!!

thank you very much!!!

Either method involves upload speed. The only difference between 'push' and 'pull' is who/what initiates the source connection (server or source encoder).
