Maybe it is on demand, but I don't know how

Post by herranz »

This is a very basic question, I know, but I'm really a newbie in this subject. I have a radio show on the air in "normal" radio every sunday; I broadcast it through the web too, in real time, but I also record it. What I want to do is to upload the recorded version to my site and make that available to listeners all through the week, at any time they would want to hear it. Uploading it as a mp3 file and just linking to it didn't work, because that way my users had to download the whole show (about 120 mb) and then open it. What I need to know is if there is a way to make the recorded show available to simultaneous users that start their own version when they want to hear it.

Maybe the tool to do this is with Mp3 Toolbox, but I don't know exactly how to use it. Is there someone who can help me implement this feature step by step? Thanks in advance to every one who helps me :)

Easy, say you upload your mp3, and the file is accessable by the following link:

http://www.domain.com/show.mp3

what you do is create a playlist which links to that file like this:

[playlist]
NumberOfEntries=1
File1=http://www.domain.com/show.mp3

save that file as play.pls

then when a user goes to http://www.domain.com/play.pls it will stream, on demand, in winamp :)
