hi
i am h-bes from italy
time ago i used to stream with live365.com service that allowed to stream files that were on their servers (files that i upped, naturally) in random mode. with shoutcast (or with some plugins) it is possible to have a streaming of files on the server without sending data with winamp?

yes you could use another sourcing program like sc_trans at shoutcast.com

that's what I use and it seems to work quite well. If, however, you want the shoutcast server to do this by itself that would be impossible, it needs some type of source from somewhere else. But it can be on the same system depending on what your server's OS is.

Sorry...I didn't understood very well.
You said that if I use sc_tran I can stream mp3 from shoutcast uploading my mp3 on this one. But then you said that shoutcast can't do this: what's the meaning of this? 8O

Can I use sc_tran by shoutcast's server without using my pc (and my winamp)?

I'm really sorry for my english :(

yea the server by itself cannot do this, so another program has to be used, either on windows with winamp or with sc_trans or other such application on *nix.

My problem is that our server is a remote server, on linux, so we don't have a direct access to that, but just by web (with telnet,.. and so go on..) :?

sc_trans can be run through telnet.
