Post by jack001 »

Ok i need some help here seting this up and heave been trying to sort this out for a few days i have all the progames installed like winamp(5.3) , DSP ect so iv got the basics of it so here the prob that you have heard 1000 times before , it not showing up

heres the log for soutcast:

<04/05/04@13:18:32> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak)
<04/05/04@13:18:32> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: 62.252.32.6:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection refused))

I have tested the system with the toolbox port scanner and got this :

62.252.32.8:8000 is Closed

Reason Given: Connection refused
More about this error: This essentially means that the port is open to the internet but has no services associated with it. There is no firewall protection on this port.

Now i am running a firewall "sygate pro" with NO ICS (yes i know everyone hates it)as i what to run it from my this computer but even when the fire wall is off i still have no joy.

So far iv only fugerd out its something to do with port forwarding , but how do you do this ?

Im running windows ME and "AND FOR THE 100TH TIME I AM NOT USEING A ROUTER" !!!!!
Any help would be great guys as im at my wits end and about to just give up with this

you could be behind a proxy, try setting Yport to 666 rather then 80.

do you own or know the owner of the router? If so then you need to look in your routers manual on port forwarding, or ask the owner of the router to port forward the shoutcast ports to the machine running SHOUTcast.
