Phone-In/Call-In Shows

Post by Necromancer »

Hi. Currently I stream on SHOUTcast. To talk, I use a Shure SM58 (mic) and a Behringer EuroRack UB1204FX-PRO (mixer).

I've heard people do call-in shows before, but I'm not sure how to channel my phone into the mixer so I can output it to SHOUTcast.

Any thoughts/comments/suggestions?
Thanks,

Did you have any luck figuring out a good way to take calls?

I would really like to set this up for one of my stations!

Necro:

I use a similar configuration. I have a Behringer Eurorack UB1832FX-PRO and using my MXL 990 mic, I feed the main-outs to a computer which simply takes the Line-In for it's broadcast feed to the internet. To interface with my telephone, I have purchased a JK Audio Daptor Two which simply adapts the headset jack on 90% of all new telephones to the correct Mic and Line levels appropriate for running through a mixer. In addition to working with most telephones, it ALSO works with most CELL phones with the same connector. This should allow you to tap into those free long distance minutes that most of us have which puts the Inline Patch to a serious disadvantage. ;) (The inline patch is also by JK Audio and plugs directly to the RJ-11 wall jack so you don't need a regular telephone unless you need to dial.)

Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions!
