Problem with ' and un-english letters

Post by Kane »

Well. i got Radio Toolbox about 2 months from now. I've used it alot. But there is one problem I have with it:

In my 20 recent songs list, whenever the song has ' in the namem it prints like this:

Síðustu 20 lögin sem ég hef spilað eru:
Iron Maiden - Drifter
Ozzy Osbourne - Devil\'s Daughter
Ozzy Osbourne - Devil\'s Daughter
Ozzy Osbourne - Devil\'s Daughter
Ozzy Osbourne - Devil\'s Daughter
Ozzy Osbourne - Devil\'s Daughter
Ozzy Osbourne - Devil\'s Daughter
Ozzy Osbourne - Devil\'s Daughter
Ozzy Osbourne - Devil\'s Daughter
Ozzy Osbourne - Devil\'s Daughter
Ozzy Osbourne - Devil\'s Daughter
Ozzy Osbourne - Devil\'s Daughter
Black Sabbath - Into the Void
Savatage - Gutter Ballad
Twisted Sister - The Beast
AC/DC - Beating around the bush
Iron Maiden - Running Free
AC/DC - Who Made Who (Live)
Iron Maiden - The Evil That Men Do
AC/DC - It\'s A Long way To The Top

This Really annoys me. There is also another one:

When the songs have a letter in either the title or the artist name which is not English, it prints with the letter ÿ. Since I'm not from England or som English speaking country, I have a lot of band who have the letters: áÁ, éÉ, ðÐ, ýÝ, úÚ, íÍ, öÖ and so on ....

There is also there is also the very popular Metal band: Motörhead, usually it's written Motorhead but that's wrong. I really don't like when it says:

Currently playing: Motÿrhead - Burner.

So, is there something to do to fix this ?

yea the repeated entries in the song history of PHP is a problem in the script itself not radio toolbox.

As for the non-english characters.
I am not sure why you would be getting problems with those characters. From my RTB and through the script service I have an entry which shows the correct character.

Télépopmusic - Breathe

For example comes through fine on RTB.

Check and make sure that they are not coming through that way on the server.

Ok, is there a way to fix the script ?
If not, then ok, it'll just be like this.

But about the characters, how did you get your server to come through with these characeters ? Did you change anything in the config ? I have had the console version and the gui version of Shoutcast, but I've noticed that there is very hard to help on their page so I'm hoping you could help me little :)

as far as I know it should translate fine, I have servers running in different locatons and all are running on various systems and the character problem is not present.

My setup is running version 1.8.0 of the DSP, it could be possible that something in the latest DSP or whatever you are using to source the server could be the root of the problem.

Maybe that's just it :)
I won't be trying to fix it because I don't know where to get an older version, I'll just deal with it.
Poeple will just have to figure out what letters are supposed to be there or som ....

Well, thx anyway :)
