MP3 clent speed problem

I just put a shoutcast server up on my linux box and broadcast using winamp from my windows machine. It appears that when some users access my stream, the playback is significantly faster than it should be. I am currently broadcasting at 96k. Is there a latency line in the config file that i should change? or should i just up to 128k?
