Questions

Post by themixturemedia »

Hey there Jay some cool things with the new steamcast but some questions.

1-the last played were it has the time the song was played (pretty cool) is there a chance that you may add that to RTB so people can see that on the web site ;-)

2-what is this active url and is it hard to setup ;-)

3-I noticed that to listen to the stream it is under m3u even if its under mp3 or ogg in the admin page why is that and is m3u a better standard

last- I try to access my Ogg stream at http://themixturemedia.no-ip.com/listen.php at http://themixturemedia.no-ip.com:8000/live.ogg it did work before but now it goes right to the admin part why is that and how do I fix it so people can listen to my ogg stream

thanks ;-)
The Mixture Media Radio:
The best on-line music from the 60's,70's,80's,90's and today. Streaming at 64kbps/48khz (MP3) and 32kbps/44khz (Ogg) 24 hours a day 7 days a week. With great sound and even better music.

No, unfortunately Icecast doesn't support such a feature as far as I can tell.

active url? Please be more specific on this one, I don't remember, slept since then i guess.

m3u is more appropriate for most players, PLS is more of a nullsoft specific playlist format.

You need to provide a playlist to your ogg stream, not a direct link. You can use the generated one in steamcast by taking the link off the main page of steamcast or create your own.

what I am saying is that Icecast doesn't support the last played feature. So it would be incomplete from the Radio Toolbox perspective.

Active url is basically the meta url of the stream which you can pass via a source tool while running live.
