Broadcast help for new stream

Post by jazzsyndicate »

Hello I need some help with getting a new 128kbs stream up and running.
I have a stream already being hosted by live 365 but is pain in butt because all listeners have to register to listen.

I have been running a test stream in 96kbs WMA format from my own pc using jetcast software but have not got enough bandwidth to cope with any large amounts of listeners..
I would like have a remote server in wma or using a server like icecast where listeners can click to listen without any sign up requiered.

I have contacted a company called http://mediacast1.com but still have not had a reply to my questions...

Can I still use jetcast broadcast software and use the external server facility to broadcast to a remote server or do I need new software?

can anyone recomend what I should do?
All I want is a click to listen stream from my website for approx 20 listeners with option to inrease with listener demand in a format that suits most players.

Streamcast looks good is it easy to set up!
Thanks for your time

If you are looking for specific services check out http://www.radiotoolbox.com/hosts/

And look for the format logo of your choice.

Our recommendations are pretty clear from that list ;)

I am not sure if jetcast will work with non jetcast server software, so I cannot be much help there. You can try oddcast2, I think it supported wma. You just need to use winamp as your playlist manager.

It is either that or do a switch to shoutcast or icecast where there are a ton of good free and payfor broadcast tools.

well I know that oddcast3 is capable of this, but I don't think it supports wma any longer.
