Continous Radio Stream, no computer, off FTP?
Continous Radio Stream, no computer, off FTP?
Hello,
Sorry for the dummy question, but i am not an expert on streaming, and i am trying to find an answer quickly on some feasibility issues.
I want to create a web streaming channel (housed on a webserver), that streams constantly by simply looping a playlist. And i want to do this without having an always-on computer running any software or media players. I would want to be able to simple drop new files into a directory (preferably FTP), that would then get added to the playlist.
Is that something Steamcast would allow me to do, or am i way off?
Else what other tools would you recommend to achieve it?
thx,
Eva

Steamcast cannot stream a radio stream on it's own, mp3 toolbox can do this but it will not synchronize the experience amongst your listeners.

thanks for the fast reply.
I am looking into MP3-toolbox.
It says it would work as a source for a Shoutcast/Live365 server or a MP3 Toolbox built Radio Station - would that somehow allow for an automatic live stream (not on-demand as MP3-Toolbox seems to be on its own)?

You would essentially relay from mp3 toolbox.
