Could Not Change Remote Directory

Post by triandrew2001 »

Hey there!! what a great utility RTB is... if only i could get it to work completely... It's got all the stats on my streams, and I'm thankful for that... now I'm having problems getting the RTB to FTP some "current song" info to my FTP server. I keep getting the following error:

Could Not Change Remote Directory

...and search as I might in your documentation, but I can't find out what that is or what it means, or even how to solve it. About to pull my hair out, and I'm not ready to join the Hairclub For Men. 8O

thanks in advance...
:)

when you go into the FTP options screen of Radio Toolbox you see 7 fields, one is called Upload Folder, make sure its set to a proper path on the remote server where you want the file to be uploaded.

okay... accoring to my webhost, the folder should be:

/home/wda1/public_html/nowplaying

I've tried it w/ and w/o a trailing "/" to no avail...
my FTP Server [under options on RTB] is set to ftp.wda1.com

now what? ....thanks worlds!! Andrew

well typically what I do to debug such things is to use a regular ftp client to connect to the server and figure out where I am, it's possible that it's using your start directory as root. So if you login and it starts you in /home/wda1/ then you would do something like this for Upload Folder './public_html/nowplaying/' or 'public_html/nowplaying/' Also if your host gives you access to FTP logs that can give you some idea what's going on, I will definately look into seeing about putting a better error message, maybe something to the effect of showing you your root and things like that.

Post by triandrew2001 »

It ended up that we just needed the right folder to direct it to.... what I thought needed to be:

/home/wda1/public_html/nowplaying

only needed to be:

public_html/nowplaying

!!!!!! :D Next question... if I wanted to BUY RadioToolBox so Icould seriosuly alter the TEMPLATE file, where do I go to buy this? Can't seem to find a link anywhere
