Receiving Autoritation Response

Post by Leonardo »

Hello friends,

I'm working with the Shoutcast server and plugin.
In my Linksys router I have portforwarding set on 8000 and 8001 TCP and UDP.
The config of my server and plugin password is okee.
Sending music with my internal IP adres works great, can listen in my network on 4 pc's.
But if I put in my external IP adres I get the message Receiving Autoritation Response by connecting.
I checked here my server and the port is open by the test.
That works okee,my fire wall of Windows xp Prof is disabled and also my Norton anti virus program is for now disabled.
In my router is on UPNP,on or off doesn't have no effect.
So the portforwarding is okee, but the plugin with my external IP doesn't seems to connect, only this message.
What can I do ????

if it is making a connection but not actually getting the response it expects then it's quite possible you have some other service running on the source port. Have you tried going to your server in a browser?

Yes,but this page won't open in the browser when my server is on and music is running and plugin is running with same message.
Can I maybe make it work with another port dan 8000 or 8001 or
is Shoutcast only works with these ports.
I also had trying to work with the Jetcast server at port 9000 and 9001
but external adres is not receiving trough the browser ???
When I triggering also these ports it won't help.
The internal adress works fine.
Also I can see by Shoutcast under genre dutch pop my name Music_on
so this works.

just look in the sc_serv.conf or sc_serv.ini for PortBase and change it to whatever you like.

Just for clarification this is the source doing this correct? If so just use your internal IP.

well continue sourcing it that way then. Your router may not allow you to use your extrenal ip from within the network.

the source address has nothing to do with the server's ability to reach the internet. For this you will need to make sure the firewall is configured properly. If you get listed on shoutcast.com it is quite likely that people will be able to reach your server.

Problem is gone.

Jay, I have found the problem.
Maybe more people have this problem.
It's the new Norton Anti virus who has a section of worm protection and blocked the TCIP protocol, stands now on Permanent Permitt, and it works thanks to a friend of mine Termimeel who translated Winamp for the dutch users.

Thanks Jay.
