Hello,
I have been seeing in my tail log this very often.
“RE: No Data Flow Timeoutâ€
So I tried to see if I could get it to do it and sometimes I can not connect
with QCDPlayer 4.51, Winamp 5.0 with the mp3PRO plugin, Winamp 5.0, iTunes/4.7 for Windows, and WMP 9 and 10 I get:
“Connection Closed [L: 47] {0 bytes} (1 secs) RE: No Data Flow Timeoutâ€
It takes awhile before I can get the stream to work.
I see this often also:
“Connection Closed [L: 47] {12872160 bytes} (1577 secs) RE: Broken pipeâ€
Any ideas on the problem?
Thanks
John

Broken Pipe is normal
the No Data Flow is some kind of bug, which OS are you running steamcast on?

I'm 99% sure it's Redhat.

ok well I will repack it and send you a copy to test out on your system if you wouldn't mind?
I added a couple of things that I think might resolve it but without having it actually happen to me, I won't know until you try it.

I just hammered your stream a couple of times and it doesn't seem to be kicking me now
Perhaps I finally figured this one out.

Ok that fixed it.
Works like a charm!
Now I see:
"RE: Connection reset by peer"
is that the same as "Broken pipe" ?
looks like it.
Thanks an bunch!

You can pretty much assume that broken pipe and connection resets are committed by the client. Basically they stopped listening.

Ok great!
I love this server so far.
I had 100 people (full) on it today without any problems except for the "No Data Flow Timeout"
It will get hammered later today and I will see what happens!
Thanks Again for the help and great software!

Jay, i have the same problem here: No Data Flow Timeout
Winamp 5.08 says also: ERROR SYNCING TO MPEG.
What can this be?
