ONLINE RADIO WINDOWS MEDIA STREAMIN SERVER QUESTION?

Post by boombasticaudio »

Well I think this is going to be a hard quesiton to answer.. I hoping there are alot of Computer savy people around on the RadioToolbox board..

I want to set up my own Media Server to produce a online radio station and website in for me and my sound crew and other sound crews that are ready to join in.. So basicly I think I have all the goods ready to go..
And the idea and needs!!

But I want some feed back from peps to know if i missing anything or doing it wrong!!

1. Buisness Line for Internet with upload speeds of 2 MB/s (streams are at 56k which means about 100 people give or take can tune in at once
2. Windows Server 2003 on a seperate PC
3. Windows Media encoder on my PC.. and everyone elses
4. Full DJ Setup running into my soundcard (this I have done 1000 times already)

So I have the impression that the pc with server 2003 will be the pull server and take the push from media encoder on My PC or my peoples C and send it out to people online.. I done have a website set up and have a online station there..
right now I can only send to 20 people and only on when I not performing any task on my pc..

SO? am I good to go or not even close to a solution?

Are you certain your upload is 2 MegaBytes?

Most providers give the specs in bits.
