How to protect the admin interface

I have gone thru the forums and i couldn't find out how to protect the admin interface url from viewers. Because if a normal user access the url, he can view the number of listerns, etc. I want to protect that url from outside access...please provide some help.

at this time I am taking the same stance as Nullsoft did on this, the admin interface index page and status.xml document will remain open access. This allows us and others to troubleshoot problems and to curb statistics cheating. The other problem is the SHOUTcast YP requires that the admin page exist, without it you won't be able to list there.
