How do you add live365 servers using beta tool?

Post by CactusRadio.com »

Thanks for the new tool, Jay! I've certainly missed the SCDC.

The new beta tool indicates it supports live365 servers. As recommended by live365, I use the format http://www.live365.com/play/[station#] in my listen.pls file. I imported that file into the RTB beta tool, but it doesn't seem to recognize those entries. When I try to edit the entry, it is clearly looking for an IP address and port. However, I'm not sure how to even determine the IP address and port for my live365 streams anymore. I looked on various live365 pages, but no luck. Winamp doesn't seem to show the resolution of the address in the playlist, either.

How can I get the tool to monitor live365 streams?

You can get you IP by two ways

use Netstat in Windows, it shows all of the connections to all of the server on your computer. You must be listening to your stream however.

Or

You can login to the live365 broadcast panel and switch it to Live mode once it has switched successfully go back to the home page of the broadcast control and you will see your IP and port listed.

Thanks, Jay! I forgot about NETSTAT. That worked like a charm, of course...
